• 20.05.2014 - A Disappointing result in our second match versus Colne Valley which finished with us being badly beaten 26-6.This did not really reflect our performance as we lost 6-7 very close games both home and away and only lost the agg away by 35 points but only coming away with 2 winners in Huddersfield.We also only had 4 winners at home which was slightly disappointing.Lost to a very good side on the day and we must learn from this defeat for our next match. • 27.04.2014 - A good start for Mon-Menai in our first of four Federations fixture. We had two changes to the team as John Glyn Davies & Dan Rossington both had to withdraw due to reasons beyond their control. Thanks to reserves Ryan Short & Allen Parry for stepping in last minute. The Home side had 7 winners who were: Ali Jones (21-8), Allen Parry (21-8), Barry Harris (21-10), Stephen Jones (21-12), Gary Buckland (21-13), Elfyn Jones (21-15) & Jamie Roberts (21-18). The away side had 6 winners: Andrew Stanley (21-12), John Short (21-14), Geraint Booth (21-18), Keith Bailey (21-19), Dion Owen (21-20) & Ryan Short (21-20). Mon-Menai would like to thank the referees at both venues, especially D.T.Evans for showing his professionalism as always. Thank you to the whole Wallasey team for being so friendly and professional. Thank you to Lyn Hartnell & Margaret Heard who helped in the kitchen, delicious hot dogs were on the menu today! Thank you to the management and staff of Tafarn Y Porth (Wetherspoons) in Caernarfon for their excellent service and delicious Sunday roast. • 07.04.2014 - Below is the Mon-Menai "home team" that played Wales at Caernarfon Bowling Club today - Score Card. We would like to thank the WGCBA for making this friendly possible. • 05.04.2014 - Tomorrow is our first match vs Wales. Can all reserves be on standby in case there are any last minute changes. Could all players also wear their Mon-Menai shirts with black or grey trousers. • 05.03.2014 - The away venue vs Wallasey on Sun April 27th is Hoylake. There is also an adjustment to the match vs East Lancs, moved to August 24th.
  

• 15.02.2014 - Mon-Menai take on Wales on Sunday April 6th at 2pm at Caernarfon Bowling Club. The away venue is yet to be decided. This is a great test which will benefit us in preparation for our first match vs Wallasey. We would like to thank the WCGBA for accepting this match.

• In attendance were: Dave Jones, David T Evans, Andrew Stanley, John Short, Barry Harris, Chris Taylor, Stuart Thomas, Geraint Booth, Arwel Williams, John Glyn Davies, Dave Mathias, Keith Bailey, Gary Bucklund, Dylan Williams, Allen Parry, Adam Harris, Elfyn Jones & John Evans.
  John Glyn Davies updated everyone on the previous three meetings that were held at Tafarn Ty Gwyn, Llanfair PG. At these meetings a small committee was formed. Stuart Thomas (Selector), Geraint Booth (Selector), John Evans (Treasurer), Andrew Stanley (Assistant Secretary) & John Glyn (Secretary & Selector)
  John Evans advised everyone of the league format which is 12 players at home and 12 away with Mon-Menai being placed in division 5 of 7 along side Wallesey, Colne valley, East Lancs and Preston A
  AGENDA:

  2. Sponsorship:
  We have had three sponsors to date who are:

  3. Team selection & Venue:
  The three selectors will pick the team approx 4-6 weeks before each match. The selectors and the co-ordinator will assure venue is in good condition.
  Players selected will receive a phone call or text with date and venue.
  Players will have 7 days to reply to confirm their availability to the committee.
  4. Finance
  John went over some finances with the group. We have taken every financial detail into consideration
  We have advised the group that this is a five year plan so we need to generate as much income as possible to set us up.
  It was agreed that the MATCH FEES for each game (Home & Away) will be set at £7.50 per player. This will include food, sweep, fuel, minibus hire and a hired driver.
  Polo shirts will be sold at £8 each. Again, this will generate extra income towards fuel etc
  A financial breakdown was shown to the group but not 100% accurate yet as some quotes for food & minibus are still outstanding.
  5. Selection Of Officers:
  We had two spaces to fill and the first being The Chairman role with Dave Mathias now taking up this role. He will organise the home games and organise the AGM.
  Andrew Stanley has agreed to take the role of a Co-Ordinator as well as assistants secretary.
  Derek Stanley & John Short have both agreed to be apart of any disciplinary hearing.
  6. Other:
  A match versus Wales has was brought up as a warm up. We have asked if they would like to take part in a pre-season friendly. If they refuse we will plan our own game against each other at a local venue.
  Our match vs East Lancs on June 22nd could be rescheduled as it clashes with The Welsh Merit Final.
  
  That concluded our meeting and we will carry on working hard to ensure we have a future as Mon-Menai

• 25.11.13 - The date for the first AGM will be Thursday 16th January 2014 at the Victoria Hotel, Menai Bridge. Important: All players who has a desire to play must attend.

• 20.11.13 - A second meeting was held this evening at Ty Gwyn, Llanfair PG. Discussions took place to arrange the first official AGM. The date and venue will be announced soon. Thank you to Stuart Thomas for securing 40 Polo Shirts.

• 11.10.13 - A meeting was held last night at Ty Gwyn, Llanfair PG. John Glyn Davies, Andrew Stanley, Gary Buckland, John Evans, Arwel Williams and Stuart Thomas attended to discuss who will fill the vacant positions of the committee.
